Chalamet's best performance to date, though I have appreciated him in many roles, this in my opinion is the one that has put him as one of the great actors of this generation. Coming in the heels of Beautiful Boy and Call Me By Your Name, The King truly shows the capabilities of this man. The sincerity and depth of feeling and thought Chalamet brings to King Henry is outstanding. The entire cast seemed to do justice to the film, but sitting here I felt the weight of his burden throughout the movie, from the protection of his brother till the closing scene. His portrayal made me feel the burden of the crown he wore. I applaud not only the acting but the cinematography and action in the battle sequence as well as the directing of this film. Just an all around exquisite piece of art and story. Chalamet's performance 5/5, Overall 4.5/5. In my humble opinion this film is worthy of Academy recognition.
