If you loved the 1st game just for the story, there's a high chance you'll hate this. If you find the 1st game to be mediocre(story), then there's a high chance you'll like this game, and lastly if you haven't played the first game then you'll probably like this game. Talking about the gameplay, if didn't like the gameplay in the 1st game then there's nothing much new to this game, you'll probably get bored. For me, there's only one word that suits this game, it's dark. It's felt like a whole different game from the 1st one, though the gameplay elements are there but you will feel conflicted about the decision you make as the playable character. You'll be doing things you don't wanna do, and you might even quit half way. But for me i t was worth every penny, the experience was something I've never had with any game before, the gameplay was amazing, the design the characters, the new characters, everything about this game was very engaging for me. Love it or hate it, but this game deserves to be played if you have a PlayStation.
