I read the comics 3 to 4 times each year, I love the movie and the game... well, maybe the game not so much, but I like it. After seeing that this series wasn't faithful to the source I wasn't sure if I wanted to see it, but I decided to give it a go.
What I found out after watching the series is that it tackles many issues the original source has, the main being understanding what the story is all about, you can see how many people failed to understand the comic books when they say that Ramona is a "pixie dream girl", she has never, ever, been that, but people not seeing that is probably why they decided to make 'Takes Off' a sequel to the books instead of just rephrasing the story for a new format.
The story focuses a lot on Ramona and her evil "exs" which is exactly what the comic books do, but this time we get to see things from a new perspective, which sends the same message as before but in a more digestible manner.
I don't want to make this review long, so I'll end up by saying that if you wanted to see another side of the evil "exs", a new side of Ramona and Scott, you have to see this sequel, you won't regret it. For those that are yet to dive into the Scott Pilgrim universe, I do not recommend the show before reading the books, there are way too many references and jokes that you won't get, and also, because this is a sequel.
... oh, almost forgot, bread makes you fat, just FYI.
