Beautiful music, story, and scenery. Perfect casting that brought to life the best of the characters with their talented acting and singing. There were moments and musical numbers that gave me the chills. The new songs and dialog added depth to enhance the overall film. The world is a different place than it was in 1989, and this updated version delivers a very powerful message for all of us today. It shouldn't be compared as a cookie cutter replica of the original. Although I adored the animated Little Mermaid, this one takes it further and makes the story more complete and relatable. I can honestly say that I fell in love with what I experienced today. It was magical. We are still smiling. What I saw was a charming retelling of a fairytale. With all the talk of race and other negative comments about this movie, if you just sit back, take it all in, and enjoy it as entertainment, you can truly appreciate this enchanting event with its deeper profound meanings and senses pleasing moments. It makes you think about what is really important regarding life, happiness, and true love. I just knew I had to go on opening weekend, and know now that it was the first of many.
