Just finished this book today and came here to drop some remarks. Before VERITY I have read three of the popular books of Hoover and kinda loved her works. But particularly for this books I have received reading recommendations and thought to try this.
Wanted to say that I'm not regretting reading this book. IT'S A MASTERPIECE and has an amazing story line. A bone chilling feel u will feel through reading it. You will also get confused about the characters mentality, about their perception. I like the character Lowen, a simple book writer. But all the real drama has starts when she find VERITY'S MANUSCRIPT. After reading this book you can't do anything but questions yourself If this is wrong or right. HONESTLY SPEAKING after reading the manuscript a resentment was born towards Verity Crawford but the letter cleared all the resentment. BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS IF THE MANUSCRIPT REAL OR FAKE????
FROM MY POINT OF VIEW :
1. It can't be fake because the way the murder was planned, u just can't think this kind of scenario unless u create it.
2. Verity needed to write this latter to convenience her husband.
3. The choking scene of Harper's. It was so real and can't be a fake scenario.
Verity was such a bloody psychopath, just so obsessed with her husband and she can do anything JUST ANYTHING to hide her sins. Besides that Jeremy was a good character. His overwhelming adoration towards his children was appreciative, BUT If he knew about the manuscript from the first why he creates some scenes in front of Lowen it's a mystery about him. Do u wanna find it....
