A ridiculously perfect miniseries. Outstanding performances by Follows and Dewhurst, beautiful cinematography, heartfelt and heartbreaking moments abound in this film. Since first watching it in the 80's on TV, and waiting desperately for the sequel, it has been my all time favourite. I put it on whenever I want to be transported to a simpler and more beautiful time.
