Two different cultures, each with their own serious problems, are brought together by circumstances beyond their control, causing racial tensions on the one extreme, and deep sympathy and caring at the other. The film draws us into the differences, and then the parallels between the two different cultures as they slowly converge and strengthen as one community. Wonderful characters, natural warts-and-all filming. Touching, brilliant throughout.
