This review may be unfair, because I only watched 1 1/2 episodes, but that was all I could stomach. The writing is pedestrian, and very weak. The characters are lame - the lead Detroit cop of course never stops chawin on gum. The criminal looks like Justin Bieber trying to be menacing. Olyphants interactions with his daughter are puerile. The courtroom scene in the first episode is so bad I almost turned the tv off right there and then. If you were expecting the characters and writing quality of the origial series, don't waste your time. If you need background while you knit, or cut your toenails, there are probably still a million better choices. What a disappointment - I shoud send the publishing house a bill for the hour and a half I wasted on this. I'd give it a zero rating if I could.
