It's a good show to just binge for fun, it's not anything life-changing or different. Quite literally just your typical Netflix Story but I enjoyed it. I absolutely loved Lara's character, considering that it was post Yamatai and Lara had to navigate her grief. Side characters were pretty enjoyable, all familiar characters that we already love. Zip was absolutely hilarious.
Animation is simple. I expected it to be more fluid and detailed like Castlevania's art style but as we know, it wasn't. Nonetheless, it was still watchable.
It did lean too far into typical tropes but the character was pretty three dimensional. The one thing that bothered me the most was how anti-climatic the 'final boss' battle was and the villain, we were told why he was the way he was but the whole villain plus relic trope is just overused. I felt like the whole chasing after the villain was more exciting than actually confronting the villain which is what most action shows struggle with.
Overall, as I said, it is good for a show to binge when you're bored and just enjoy. I didn't come in with necessarily high standards especially since not every game to screen adaptation is as great as Arcane's, Castlevania's and Edgerunners but I found myself watching Netflix's tomb raider show enjoyable, funny and at times beautiful.
Side note if you complain about Lara looking like a 'man' , you're just a deadbeat virgin who doesn't like any female character that doesn't have a big bust or ungodly proportions. Meet a real woman.
