I loved watching and couldn’t stop thinking about it when I wasn’t. I don’t tend to watch shows like this. I normally stick to the thriller or crime genre But something drew me in about this. Perhaps it was the elegant and immaculate performance by Anya Tailor Joy Or maybe the impeccable visuals I never thought they could make chess as cinematic but they did and did it well I think That the first one or two episodes (the episodes set in the orphanage) were a little weak but as soon as Anya started I was thrilled Several times I have wanted to watch it again before i even wrote this review (which is a few days after u finished watching it). In fact. In a sense I am angry at myself that I binged the show. I don’t know if I should blame it on the film makers for making it so thrilling I had to watch just one more episode, then the next, then the next. Or blame it on myself for not having the willpower to stop
In conclusion I think it shows how effective it was, on me especially, that the next day I found my old chess set and played for the first time in several years
