My review might not resonate with everyone. But this is what I feel.
Check with psychologists who had watched this movie. It's feel good fantasy movie about relationships, that's all.. and very poorly researched one.
One - divorce is being ostracized as bad.
Two - generalising depression.
Three - handling the issues maturely has also been ostracized.
Four - message as woman nagging has been glorified.
Five - doctor is not confidential.
Six - not having joint sessions to meditate and solve issues.
Seven - it's okay to compromise and live peacefully - chasing dreams might not work for everyone, few will have to compromise - else everyone will be Ambani's.
Eight - lots of wrong advice.
Nine - fretting about failed relations.
Ten - causing even more stress to make the failed relations work.
This movie can have negative impact due to its toxic positivity as if everyone can succeed. The movie should have mentioned it is okay to have failed relationships than to cling n suffer which is already a big problem in Indian marriages.
My sincere request to movie directors - do not show reasons for depression. Everyone's life is different. There can be a myriad of issues. Even a guy when chased by crow can get depressed. Your portrayal can cause discord n wrongly diagnose the problems for actual depression instead of identifying the correct issues. No one has any idea on how to handle a depressed person and the pain the other person have to go through to help bring depressed person out of it.
Only big positive advice that has been mentioned is - expressing the feelings to their spouse about an issue when one is uncomfortable. Like - 'these words or actions are hurting me, please use better words and do not yell at me'.
This movie is semi researched and provides advice which are not at all the correct way to handle issues.
Please seek therapy incase of marital issues. If you watch this movie, be warned - fights could increase between couples due to nitpicking even the slightest of inconveniences as the root cause of most of the issues which is not often the case.
Technically, the screenplay, acting, bgm, production values, cinematography were good. Actors were good with the portrayal of their emotions. All the actors were excellent in what was was expected out of them to portray. This is the only reason I gave 2 stars.
PS: Watch it as a fantasy movie and do not compare it to your life. No one is perfect. It's okay to move out of failed relationships than to stress out to have the perfect life which is the root cause for most of depression n suicides.
Another PS: trigger warning for people who suffer or suffered from depression already.
