Today's discussion on health care talked about states being laboratories for the country...
They should have brought up Minnesota's state plan to re-insure the sick to hold down the premiums on the exchanges. A good example of focusing on how states can address the issue insuring high risk individuals through the normal health insurance market.
Second, on the issue of universal health care, why does someone not bring up that under Medicare there is no evidence that the government can manage health care costs. The government is a giant claims paying machine... it makes almost no attempt to manage health care costs other than setting prices and pursuing fraud.
Third, one guest did mention that ObamaCare did little to control health care costs. That person was spot on... but no one spoke to the underlying issues as to why the private sector has been unable to control health care price inflation which accounts for a large portion of the higher health care costs.
