a film that truly inspired me, a piece of art by Farhan akhtar which wasn't done justice back when it was screened in the theatres in 2004 .Dialogues and lyrics by Javed akhtar and music by Shankar ehsaan loy could it get any better. with lead actors Hrithik roshan and Preity zinta and with the acting prowess of the likes of Amitabh bachchan , Boman irani and Om puri . the story revolves around Karan shergill(Hrithik roshan) a young man with no ambition who strives for absolutely nothing , Karan decides to write the CDS exam and join the IMA one day as his friend tells him that he will be giving the exam too who further backs off and decides not to give the exam. the story further goes on to follow Karan's endeavors as he faces many trials and tribulations and heartbreaks in his journey to join the Indian army. Karan finally discovers his LAKSHYA(aim) when a war breaks out between India and Pakistan in the same region where Karan shergill is first posted as an lieutenant in Batalik located in the beautiful Indus river valley .He is given the task to reclaim the peak 5719 captured by Pakistan at that point of time .A well directed movie by Farhan akhtar after debuting with his movie Dil chahta hai in 2001, after lakshya he went on to make huge box office hits like Don and its sequel movie Don 2. Certainly lakshya is one of the very best bollywood has produced and is certainly a must watch.
