The Scream movies were one of the first horror series I've ever fully watched so I was pretty excited to see this movie and how they were going to carry on the story but after watching I can safely say that I just wasted 2 hours.
Spoiler warning
The first sign that I thought was going to be a bad movie was after Tara gets the final question wrong her friend Amber was supposed to be killed as punishment but then after we see Tara and her friends in the hospital we fund out that Amber is completely okay and was never attacked. Also in the original Ghostface has Casey's boyfriend tied and gaged in her backyard so she knows that the person on the other end of the phone isn’t screwing around but the only reason we have to think Amber's in danger is because Ghostface sends Tara a video of Amber which could have easily been pre recorded before hand and we neody but we do see Caver see Amber's Casey's boyfriend's body.
Another problem with this movie is that the writers thought that every charcter has to now somehow be related to one of the main cast form the first movie which makes no sense.
The hospital scene when Tara is in a wheelchair and trying to find help makes no sense because a hospital would never be empty like that the only way to have a hospital that empty would mean that Ghostface killed all the workers, cops, and patients on each floor without being noticed which could never work.
The side charcters that are related to the original cast are all bland and are just carbon copy of who they are related to. Ex. Randy's niece is the "expert" on horror movies but that's all she is just because she's related to Randy.
This movies also didn't feel like it had its own ideas like the final act takes place at Stu's house just like in the first movie, Randy's niece did the turn around scene while watching a horror movie, and the ope9ng scene is an almost carbon copy of the original.
