Poignant movie! So glad to see this has been made, ace job Vivek Agnihotri, and fingers crossed I hope this movie beats the top spot of the movie 'Dangal', in addition to winning INTERNATIONAL awards.
I have been to the Auschwitz-Birkenau and Dachau concentration camps and have see the movies made there, this movie representing the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits is right up there. The end scene is similar to the way the Nazi SS Einsatzgruppen shot the Jews during the initial phases of the holocaust before they perfected their killing using gas chambers.
As a British Indian I implore all my friends and family in Britain and Europe to see this movie.
'Genocide is Genocide' and by no means was the expulsion of the Kashmiri Pandits an Exodus. I especially loved the conviction with which Mithun C. stressed this.
Vivek Agnihotri is in the same category of Steven Spielberg, using non-famous actors to focus on the movie and not the elevation/hype of Bollywood Stardom.
For me, Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' will be in the same category as genocide movies such as Schindler's List, Run Boy Run, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Life is Beautiful and The Pianist, these are but a few of the holocaust movies.
