I agree this show has many flaws, but I think it deserves more than just 5.8 score (currently). My review is from a regular audience pov, with no deep knowledge of the technicalities of filmography and what not, so yeah :3
+ For a person who doesn't fond of a lovey dovey, cute, bright, tooth-rotting drama, I love how dark this show is: the main idea itself, the color tones, and even the weather!
+ Kim Young Kwang's acting definitely deserves an acknowledgement. I think he is the right person to play Yun Oh, which is the complete opposite of his usual roles in dramas!
+ People say the pace is too slow, but doesn't it to emphasize the contrast of Yun Oh's character when his killing mode is on?
+ The girls are okay (?) Like they are good but they didn't leave a deep impression to me. I know they are kinda new, just debuted even, so I wish them to keep thriving and improving!
- The fact that Ga Eun decided to went to that abandoned shopping district alone is beyond me! Like- WHY?! I understand that she is vulnarable with a budding Stockholm Syndrome kinda love towards Yun Oh and maybe her heart made the decision instead of her brain, but- *sigh* I believe there are so many of you who felt the same with me, right?
- There is lack of world building to make the audience relate or symphatize to the characters. Like, what exactly Yun Oh's motives for having such a hobby? What's the trigger? I think he accidentally suffacated his first victim is not strong enough to be a sole motivation for him to keep doing it for a whole year, no?
For an amature serial killer, Yun Oh is such a lucky guy 😂 For the whole year! No CCTV caught him in action? No fingerprints left on the scene? Not a single witness? Or is it just the police didn't doing their job? Idek anymore
Yes I agree that there are so many unnecessary scenes: the the clothe-less scenes, the story of the shaman finally getting it on, Sum having fun with her toys by listening in her earlier texts with Yun Oh, etc
About the ending tho! After I read a lil bit more about Asperger Syndrome and reading one specific review on IMDB (that the reviewer explained about why Sum's syndrome has a big part in her decision in the end), I felt like I can understand why Sum did it. I feel pretty sad for Yun Oh, but I believe it's a hard decision for Sum too :)
