It’s glover, baby. Okay, close your eyes. You’re a glove. Also, you’re magic. Also, you’re bouncing a ball. Yeah. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Jokes aside, glover is an amazing game, hard to master, but wonderfully rewarding. If you’re a fan of obscure platformers in the golden age, glover’s the game for you.
It’s highly creative and extremely unique. There’s practically no other game like it, maybe billy hatcher and monkey ball type physics, but way more complex. The music is great too, it’s like vaporwave meets instrumental indie dance music.
Has a lot of extra content in the form of cheats to screw around with, but only problem for me is the game itself is pretty short and there’s only one game with a canceled sequel. You can still play most of the sequel in it’s late alpha through an emulator, but it’s far from complete. Piko interactive now has the rights to the IP and plans to release the complete sequel and remake, i believe. Hopefully it’s true and we’ll see what happens, but for now, glover 1 is definitely worth a try. I will say it’ll take a lot of patience at first and sometimes, as old games do, it’ll get a little buggy.
Also, do yourself a favor and play it on nintendo 64, all other versions of it are very low quality.
