The acting was generally top notch. The soundtrack fantastic and relevant. Script mostly spot on. Read reviews from lots looking for something that in the flawed character that is JL will never materialise. This is real life. Mine, yours and his. Brutally indecisive.

In the end I thought this was a film about someone who became a brilliant Director offering some fairly anodyne reasons as to why family is special. The film was about 30 mins too long as it got distracted on issues that don't warrant the space in 2023. Dysfunctional families are the norm today, Yes understand less so in the film timeline but no connective tissue from then (I was alive in the 60s) and now. It lacked edge for me, rather sentimental and family disunity is anything but that in my personal opinion.
