A tragic Hugo Weaving, fighting for a noble cause, who falls in love with an intelligent and beautiful Natalie Portman, a bystander who starts out a frightened wallflower, but thanks to V, grows to be a fearless and life risking freedom fighter against the dystopian landscape of corrupt and cruel followers of High Chancellor Adam Sutler (John Hurt), with the similarities betwixt Adam Sutler and Adolf Hitler even sounding the same as the syllables roll off the tongue, the swastika replaced with a doublecross...the film is a feast for the eyes, the score inspiring the ears and the characters relating to the soul with such rich, fleshed out players that one is never bored as they come to life, inspiring and intriguing ...a film that one wants to watch over and over again, as with all other classics.
