The mother, played by Bellamy Young, is noxious every time the camera turns to her, with her breathy delivery and fake self-deprecation. If her role had been significantly more limited, this would be a tolerably good series.

Give this series a miss. The acting is poor. Toni Collette should be able to find better vehicles for her talents as an actress. Even she failed to measure up in the acting category. The casting was ridiculous with different actors playing earlier versions of characters when that was entirely unnecessary and lacked credibility.

The grand jury scenes are so outrageously unrealistic as to make this lawyer want to throw my iPad across the room. The questions asked of Andrew Barber by the prosecutor are ridiculously improper. Poor writing. Complete lack of legal realism. Irritating, to state the obvious.
