One of the best things about this movie is that they didn't just remake the original animated film into a live action movie. Rather than recycle the same older content the writers decided to take a creative approach to breathe new life into a dated story. There are many people who can't accept adaptations and creativity when retelling a story. The truth is storytelling has and always will be an art that is ever changing. Personally its great to see that in this retelling the writers have taken considerable time to make this film inclusive and vibrant. I love that the original whitewashed animated story now has a multicultural representation, further its great to see interacial relationshops thrust into the limelight. My belief is that if you can't relalize how great this retelling is, you may have to face that perhaps what you don't like is actually that you might have to face either your fear of change or your internal prejudices towards other cultures.
