The plot is OK'ish but similar to the film Seven. However, so much of the detail is sloppy. For example, someone feeding shillings (which were discontinued in 1971) into a payphone in an Underground station. Next our hero is flying in a Boeing 777 which came into service in 1995. The American detective somehow takes his pistol onto a flight to Switzerland and takes it through Customs. There's talk of a "nonstop" flight to Geneva - it's only an hour's flight! Then, somehow they drive direct from Geneva to the resort of Zermatt which is actually traffic free and the last part of journey can only be made by train. They stay in a "cottage" in Zermatt - surely a "chalet"? Lots more stuff like this as well as dialogue which sounds very dated. The villain keeps saying "quite the" every other sentence. All very irritating.
