The film Midsommar is definitely a textbook case of The Emperor's New Clothes. I will be more than happy to assume the role of the boy who doesn't see splendor of the new apparel. Roger Corman was often quoted as saying that a film can do anything to an audience except bore them.. I'm sorry to say that Midsommaris is two plus hours of a crushing bore . You will likely leave the theater feeling empty,cheated and disillusioned in an entertainment form that isnt supposed to make you dread the idea of a second viewing. In conclusion, if you are a person who wishes to jump on the Midsommer praise wagon, be my guest. However, I feel my box office dollars should be spent on ENTERTAINING films. Certainly not artisy bores like this film.
