Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - NO SPOILERS! My history with sonic games may not be like SUPER fan, but I definitely preferred him to Mario and his games. I played Sonic 2, Sonic Heroes (best game) sonic riders 1 and 2, Unleashed and Colours and of course basically all the Olympic stuff. So seeing this film can definitely bring me back to playing these games. So movie review time, PROS: Good pacing Great intro Jim Carrey CGI (for the characters that is) Finale was just beautiful (as a sonic fan) Post credit scene is alright (saw it coming) There is a Parcs and Recreation reference in there somewhere, you cannot miss it... and above all doesn't take itself too seriously CONS: The second act, specifically one part of it, DRAGGED longer than it should have but wasn't boring, I would have prefered to see something else Ironically, video game plot - however, I give it a pass on this since its a video game movie and a PG one at that Eggman Flossing and saying "Wassap my G" - I could feel my childhood turning in its grave NO Ugandan Knuckles reference or joke despite given plenty of easy moments to Overall: This film does a Venom: Let there be carnage and just doubles down on everything they did in the first film, which worked. It definitely had a better budget because the CGI was stridden better than the first film, especially for Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, like having their fur getting wet or sandy depending on their environments was a nice quality they added. As Tails is my favourite sonic character, I think I can say they did him pretty good in this, especially with the original voice actor, which is a nice touch. It was a fun Sonic adventure and I had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. 9/10
