I will start with the positives, great atmosphere, costumes and set pieces, but that is where the positives end. The movie tried to tell the story of Napoleon and Josephine through a very one note representation and it honestly falls flat. Instead of complex humans, especially in the case of Napoleon, we get an angry baby. The battles are visually nice, but are more representative of WW2 than they are of the time and actually lack what made Napoleon such a powerhouse on the battlefield. The movie also fails if you don't know the history behind it, bouncing from one scene to the next without context.
