I sobbed reading the first two pages and bawled the last 20. I didn’t want this trilogy to end nor did I want to say goodbye to the characters I’ve loved over the three Beartown novels. Backman has a writing style that keeps you engaged, makes your heart ache, and sticks with you long after you’ve stopped reading. I’ve been recommending Beartown since I started reading it and will continue to recommend this trilogy to anyone who hasn’t read it. The Winners is a beautifully written and striking story that you won’t want to put down - I wish I could start it all over for the first time.
