This book is a moving story of how Japanese Americans in WWII were unfortunately treated in a shameful chapter of our history, and how those citizens’ children living in the internment camps coped with life behind the fences including thru sports. Bradford Pearson’s book in some respects reminds me of another true story of a group of underdog football players depicted in “12 Mighty Orphans.” I was both moved and inspired by “The Eagles of Heart Mountain”.
