IMO..."rock and roll history" generally gets utterly botched when "brought to the silver screen".
This movie is one of the rare exceptions. Covers a lot of ground in less than 2 hours, very efficient (not unlike a Ramones song) and never takes itself too seriously. Great all-round performances and great music. You are never quite sure about dates or the passage of time but I am really not sure it matters.
