I just watched the pilot of SNW and it felt so nostalgic and idealistic. I am so happy that we're going back to the episodic nature of old Trek. Mind you, I adore Disco(S1, S2, S4) and Picard(S2) was great, but this is so much fun. I find the characterization of Spock in this series odd , but I'll give the writers the benefit of doubt that it was just a pilot fumble. Pike is great and I can definitely see how he'll be a great captain to center the series around. He's warm, tortured and has that brash air that you expect, want and need from a ST captain. I'll do an update when I'm caught up, but I have high hopes.
