Brief Encounter is a beautiful movie that eloquently sheds light on the feelings of loving and being loved passionately for brief moments; the pain of parting and cruelty of fate in ruing the moments that one expects to be very gentle and precious. Celia Johnson stands out for her acting. She plays the role of a housewife who falls in love with Alec Harvey (Trevor Howard), a doctor, whom she accidentally meets in the refreshment room of a Railway station. The two coincidently see each other for some more times before admitting that they have actually fallen in love despite the fact that both of them were already married. Then starts a journey of happiness that one feels one some reveals love for him or her, followed by feelings of guilt and social pressure and ending with a realization that their romance cannot last forever. It may remind you of some of your encounters as well. The portrayal of soft feelings is the real delight in this movie.
