It has its flaws but I thought it was definitely good enough to be a part of the monster-verse; and was going to be tied into it. I thought there was going to be a Dracula Untold sequel that sets up the turning of "Count Dracula" after he is killed by Van Helsing; Count Dracula and Vlad being outlined as seperate beings. And a scene that shows Van Helsing being kept alive by Vlad in some sort of Coffin contraption with Vlad feeding him his blood from sachels or such, but not allowing him to feed himself, would allow Van Helsing to be transported to the modern day and become human again. Then a Van Helsing film could be made that's based in the modern day with a werewolf pack being the monsters he needs to hunt; being released by vlad to deal with them as he goes elsewhere to deal with something else. This could also tie in to wolfman(2010) somehow. From there who knows...
But I dought anywhere near such as this would ever become a reality.
However, it is certainly a film worthy of further credit and exploration. And even if it doesn't get tied into the Monster-verse, and doesn't get any kind of sequel it deserves, it is still a decent film that is grossly underapreciated by critics!
