I decided to read this book as a fan of Asura by Anand, but this book made me feel pity for this man!
Mahabharat is a great literature in itself. Twisting characters to suit the agenda is just sad. Ramayan from Ravana’s perspective was still fascinating as they were gods and the true story was never revealed. It’s interesting to see a different POV. But, with Mahabharata, there are facts and real stories to be considered. Insulting and misleading people to believe that lord Krishna and Pandus were the real villains is just mocking our traditions.
I started reading with a hope to understand Duryodhan’s POV, but I did not fathom that the writer would change the whole story to make him a protagonist. Duryodhan’s POV might have included the influence of evil figures like Shakuni and Dhritarashtra, but the writer tried to make him stand on a pedestal above Krishna and claimed that he was the only one fighting for the righteousness! That’s just a wrong story, not a perspective!
Perspective should follow the timeline and respect the truth, simply creating a false narrative to justify an arrogant and a know it all is nothing but an attempt to justify an accused!
If you do not have an idea of Mahabharata please do not read this book! It’s utter nonsense. It will try to justify disrobing of Draupadi and that’s just shameful, it’s nothing more than our law system who tries to sympathise with the rapist rather than the victim!
