Leni Dubel – Google

I’m almost reluctant to leave this review. But this movie is really nothing like the Sopranos. It’s really neat that James Gandolfini’s son was in the movie - and that the younger versions of the characters were as well. But I kept waiting for it to shift into what I was expecting. This movie reads more like a 60’s gangster film. It’s much slower paced than the Sopranos. I’m not saying it’s a bad movie, but it’s not like the show at all.

I REEEEEEALLY wanted this to be different. I love Keanu Reeves and all of his movies spanning back decades but this movie is really cheesy. Since there is a robot in the trailer ads, I thought it would be about robots. But it is about clones. I don’t like clone movies. One of the craziest scenes is where Keanu’s family is being chased and tracked by the government. They can’t figure out why they are able to find them. He says “The GPS trackers are in you, they put trackers in all their property.” But we, as the audience, have just seen him grow the bodies in his garage, tracker-free. I found myself watching it again, but told myself to ignore all the plot holes. If you can get past the ridiculousness of it all, it is kind of good. The ending made me fall out of my chair laughing. “Boot the mapping sequence”.
