I couldn’t enjoy this book. This book rather ruined the memory of the first book for me. Lily chose herself and her daughter, ran in to Atlas and it’s obvious they’re going to be together. That should’ve been it.
Instead, most of us wants to know what “starts with us” is.
Here’s my opinion. The story is going super slow and I don’t feel connected to it as I read it. Even Lily and Atlas didn’t start going on a date reading half of the book already because it was written to go day by day. I felt the chemistry between them more through the letters than their actual conversations. There’s a lot of unnecessary parts such as over explained thoughts and rereading of letters. I get that Atlas’s background is important too but his family problem was only an addition to Lily and Ryle’s situation that still has no resolution. There’s no growth or consequence on Ryle’s side and it feels like he was portrayed to be more immature on this book which is understandable since Lily is moving on but the very first conversation of him and Atlas and he’s like “okay fine” It doesn’t make sense and is unrealistic. I have over 20 pages left to read and all of that still needs closure.
