The acolyte truly upsets me as a piece of star wars media. Granted there were some positives such as, some likeable characters, and the choreography was quite frankly excellent.
However, the writing seemed downright lazy, the pacing didn't make any sense and had no flow, the flashback episodes were incredibly lazy, and It felt as if they were throwing things into the show for the sake of having them there (certain cameos).
Please Disney, you had a budget of $180M while Dune part 2 had $190M, there is no excuse to be producing a series this lacklustre with the budget you've been given.
Some people may say its because of your "woke" agenda, I'm honestly not at all fussed about having a diverse cast, if anything I'm all for it, Star Wars has nearly always had diverse casts with people very very rarely taking issue with it.
So it honestly hurts me when creative decision makers blame the audience for their poor work because the fans are apparently "anti-woke" and are against the diverse cast, when as I stated before, the vast majority of fans either take no issue with or are all for a diverse cast.
Disney produced something the vast majority of fans clearly don't like, and refuse to hold themselves accountable for their creative errors.
I've loved Star Wars all my life to the point of obsession (call it sad if you will) but some select Disney Star Wars media, especially the acolyte, is stopping me and many fans from being excited for more Star Wars. To be honest, I know many once fans who now simply don't watch any Star Wars anymore, and I really think I may stop one day too and that'll be a sad day indeed.
I realise Disney won't read this but please stop pushing fans away and please begin listening to those who've fallen in love with Star Wars and its lore for so so many years.
