A romance novel with a weird mix of history, paganism, torture and sadism. Not 50 shades of grey type of sadism, but but the worst kind you can imagine. As much as I like the main characters, I would not watch it again.

It starts slow and doesn’t get better. There are a couple of compelling characters but the story is awful and a big downer. I am now in therapy after watching.
