SPOILER FREE REVIEW, although I have beaten the game.
As it is, the game is good. I personally enjoyed it, and it's filled with everything gameplay-wise that you loved about the last of us 1. I do admit that some parts of the game feel like they drag on, like with the back to back battles of infected that you really don't feel like doing sometimes and would rather know more about the active story. There were quite a few moments like that for me, where it felt like the game had a bit of filler for the sake of more action packed gore-filled battles, and while I do really enjoy that part of the game, sometimes important things are happening and my mind doesn't jump to "hm, I wonder if there's infected I could be killing right now". There kind of a weird split in the middle of the game that interrupts something REALLY important, something you've been waiting for the entire game, only to have to wait a VERY long time to reach that climax again. Now, don't get me wrong, it's worth the wait, it just feels frustrating when it's happening at first, and the ending of it leaves you feeling extremely conflicted. Still no spoilers, but the ending of the game to me personally was not satisfactory, and it left me wanting more. Still, I would say despite all of this, the game is worth the price. If you enjoyed The Last of Us 1, you'll enjoy 2. You've just got to get over some of the drawn-out parts of the game. Not better than the first, but still a good game.
