Wholesome, beautiful, absolutely loved this.
As soon as this started, I felt that someone special was filming this. The chaos in the intro reminded me of the Uncut Gems movie and apparantly the director behind this special was also the director for Uncut Gems.
I can imagine Adam Sandler fans being a bit letdown by this artistic and experimental approach. But to me it felt really wholesome and avant-garde in a way.
Almost Andy Kaufman-esque, but in a lazy, anti-comedy and low effort type of way. There's a subtleness and easy-goingness in how Adam Sandler delivers his jokes, his work. It's a bit hazy, a bit rushed, a bit unprofessional but at the same time very professional.
You can feel that all of the material came from the heart and that's exactly why I loved this so much. It was filmed beautifully, everything came together beautifully and Adam Sandler does what he loves doing and probably does best.
Not a huge Adam Sandler fan here, but he really made something special here.
