I have read many books on the subject, beginning with Ann Rule’s first hand account.
I agree that much of this is a re-hash and does gloss over details of the investigation, for example. Also, there is no in-depth exploration of childhood influences, etc.
But, I find the parallel examination of Women’s rights and social change in the context of rape and murder victimization to be important and at least, partially accomplished. The period films bring the 70’s to life, as well as the films and pictures throughout. Interesting as well, the many interviews with the girlfriend and daughter to show how they were never targets, but a part of Bundy’s life, separate from his growing tension to kill. Heartbreaking interviews with families and friends of the victims. The documentary is fascinating and well done, in my opinion.
