I'd give this a "C." Maybe a good effort but lots of flaws. First lots of problems with the actual science. Were there any scientific advisors involved? Lack of reality wrt time delay in transmissions is one issue. Also, why didn't they just bring seeds to Mars? Why do they need to have the plants growing on the mission? Makes no sense. Way too much melodrama, and much of it not convincing. And the constant religious overtones! I am a scientist myself, and in my entire career I have known maybe two colleagues who were religious, certainly none like Kwesi, the botanist. I keep comparing this to the 1968 masterpiece, "2001." Of course, back then there was no computer simulation, etc., but way more exciting and believable. If there is a Season 2, hope they hire better writers.
