One word: WOW.
The way Rebecca McKanna decided to tell this story was incredible. She made you know her characters very deeply, knowing their faults, virtues, mistakes, dreams and the way they loved and suffer thru it all. She kept the mystery untouched until the very end and gave you pieces to figure things out little by little, but also making you doubt yourself on how things were going to actually resolve. I loved every second of this book and I am so glad I’ve had the opportunity to see Rebecca twice and hear her talk about the process to get this story out there. I am definitely inspired to be more mindful when “consuming” true crime because of her and I just can’t wait to see what else she has to offer.
This is so much more than a murder/mystery/fiction book, it opens the door to secrets, friendships and how hard you love someone enough to go all the way for them even when they are gone forever.
