A bit of a disappointment.
Lacking the charm, humour, character and plot of Guy Ritchie’s previous classic ‘The Gentlemen’ (despite featuring quite a few of the same cast), Operation Fortune ultimately leaves you feeling empty.
The ‘comedy’ seems very contrived, and the film is simply not very funny (not one ‘laugh out loud’ or unforgettable scene), and it has a story line which labours along, as the plot is not particularly interesting or engaging.
The scenery and directing are very good, but in the end the one saving grace is the acting: all the stars are superb, with Aubrey Plaza and Josh Hartnett stand outs.
Overall a bit of a disappointment.
