In a word: it was ok. Visually well done, great attention to detail and had many funny parts. But the whole time, I could not get over how dumb and emasculating they made all the men. As if to make up for the lack of womens rights in the past, they made each and every man act dumb, want the worst for all the Barbies, and have a lack of anything anyone would want to be around. In fact, there was an entire montage of “how men should be” that Ken took to the extreme and made sure the audience knew how terrible masculinity is. The whole “Kenough” felt like a pat on the back to make it seem ok that they painted men in such a terrible light.
It was a very feminist movie, which some may enjoy, but I felt was way over the top and although really pushed as a “fun for all ages” movie, I kringed through most of it when I let my girls watch it.
Won’t watch again, won’t recommend.
