I'm only giving this one star because of the quality of the actors, particularly Brad Pitt, and that they won't let you go lower. It is a complete rip-off of Romancing the Stone, from Sandra being a romance novelist to them searching for a lost jewel treasure. Good Lord! Even her dress at the dance in the small village was a knock off of Kathleen Turner's, except it was red! "We can get cleaned up and get some new duds" - straight out of RTS - as was the car, the village, as was the dance, as was the crooked police. The only thing it was missing was the fantastic script and chemistry! This was replaced by hackneyed "action" that even the ancient special effects of 30 years ago beat by a mile. A stupid, dull, sweet-tart of a movie that I am so glad I didn't pay to see in the cinema. Watch RTS, you'll be so much more satisfied.
