This movie is incredibly underrated, and one of M. Night Shyamalan’s films. It’s not really a horror movie like some say. Sure, there are some incredibly intense scenes, but there is a difference between intense and scary. Anyways, this film is incredible. The child actors do a great job, Joaquin Phoenix steals the show with his wit and humor. Mel Gibson does a great job convincing you that he truly IS the character who he plays. He carries the emotion of the story, and does it successfully. M. Night Shyamalan has crafted an amazing film about if there is or isn’t a higher power out there, and he tells it through an alien invasion. Sure, it sounds weird at first, but the two strangely go undeniably well together. This might be my favorite M. Night Shyamalan film. It’s got great acting, an incredible twist ending that makes you want to jump up and clap, and is just a great story about a dad struggling to keep his family together through a crisis. I’d give it a 9.5 or 10/10. It’s awesome. You should check it out, even if you’re not a big fan of M. Night Shyamalan or any of the actors.

I know a lot of people like this film and that's great. This is just my opinion: I'm not a fan of the film. The last act is a big CGI slug-fest...as is the rest of the film. There are hints of greatness, but with a cliche and poorly written love story, an overuse of CGI, a great comic-accurate depiction of Black Manta (mostly visually) and a handful of eye-roll moments, I'd give Aquaman a 4 or 5/10.

This movie is a bit difficult for me to talk about, mostly because I had been so excited for it to come out; I saw the first teaser trailer in November 2016 and couldn't wait to see it. The finished product, I tried incredibly hard to love, but just liked a general amount. Of course, I want the Snyder Cut to be released (who doesn't) because I understand that Warner Bros. had to get reshoots so they could release it in time of November 17, 2017; it they had halted production, the company would have lost millions upon millions of dollars. But, there are definitely parts I liked a lot. Watching Batman destroy a Parademon practically with his own hands in the opening scene - and on the same note, the opening scene was really cool. It felt straight out of a comic book. The movie had some great laughs, was very entertaining, and clever action. The CGI was overused, as always is the case with DCEU films (not so much Man of Steel, but the Wonder Woman final battle, parts of Shazam, parts of Justice League, Suicide Squad, and all of Aquaman. Steppenwolf was terribly written and designed; in the comics he's a guy, so why didn't they stick with that instead of wasting more money on CGI which makes him look like a PS3 villain? The Superman lip was as bad as they all say, and I think that DC should have stopped production not only because of Zach Snyder's unfortunate family tragedy, but because Henry Cavill had to film Mission: Impossible - Fallout (which is another great film you should watch) and so they should have just waited instead of "digitally shaving" it, as Warner Bros. called it. They can't fool us. It's not a digital save. It's a photoshopped photo of Nicholas Cage's bottom half of his face. Anyway, I like Justice League. I don't love it, I don't hate it. It's a fine movie. Watch it, and be entertained, but not impressed. Or, don't watch it, and wait for the Snyder Cut.

With B-movie action and a plot as complicated as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or the films of Brian de Palma, this under-rated film starring Liam Neeson is quite intriguing, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I think it deserves more praise than it’s getting. With just a 56% on Rotten Tomatoes, this film definitely deserves a higher rating. You should check it out, even if you’re not crazy about Liam Neeson or action movies; I wouldn’t necessarily call it an action film. Just a suspenseful-thriller with action. All in all, this is a solid film that deserves at least one viewing. It’s not perfect, but it’s good.

10/10 I love superheroes and superhero movies. I love Marvel movies, I love DC movies, I love almost all movies that have superheroes. Sure, some of them feel like they’re not any different than any other superhero film, but I love them. However, this film is different. This film is an incredibly grounded take on a superhero film. This film isn’t action packed, it doesn’t have big action scenes, this is simply a film about a man trying to find out his purpose his life...something he’s been wondering about for a while. The script for this film is amazing, and Bruce Willis was the perfect choice for the role of David Dunn - he’s simply a man trying to do good. It’s simple. It’s inspiring. There’s another great child actor performance, per the norm for M. Night Shyamalan films. Samuel L. Jackson as Mr. Glass was another perfect casting, and he’s the most complicated character of the film. M. Night Shyamalan has made an incredibly unique and modern take on superhero films. The cool thing about the film is that as it gets older, it gets better. You should definitely watch it. Odds are, you’ll love it.

9.8/10 - War for the Planet of the Apes is a beautiful film that is easily the best film in the entire franchise and, I think, one of the best of all time. It encourages you to ponder on the idea of war, when it is okay to fight, and how far should you go with it. I didn’t entirely find myself rooting against mankind because I instinctively root for my species, but writers Matt Reeves and Mark Bomback do an incredible job of getting you to care about them and root for them as much as you would any human character. The score is incredible, the CGI and VFX are jaw-dropping, the story has a great finale-vibe to it, the action is exciting, and the ending (I won’t spoil it) is near-perfect, although I do have just a little complaints. Once again, this is a great movie that deserves at least a couple watches.

10/10 - Honestly, I don’t know where to begin with this movie. There’s too much I like about it. Heath Ledger shines as the Joker, Christian Bale once again proves he is the perfect part for Batman, and every character is greatly written. Christopher Nolan’s, Jonathan Nolan, and David S. Foyer don’t get enough credit for this beautifully written film. The only person on the planet who could out-do Christopher Nolan in a Batman film is Christopher Nolan himself. This is easily the best Batman movie ever, the greatest superhero film ever, and, is my favorite movie of all time. The score is eery and perfectly matches the dark gritty tone that is needed to tell a story with the Joker as the lead villain. I listen to the score all the time through headphones (which I highly recommend doing). Speaking of which, once again, the Joker is perfectly written. He puts me on edge, ever after watching it for the 100th time. This movie also poses deep psychological questions like: How far are you willing to go to do the right thing? The actions great, the dialogue is perfect; there are endless memorable quotes in this movie. Once again, this is a 10/10. It’s a perfect Batman movie, superhero movie, and movie in general. I can’t express how many times you should watch this movie, as it is a treasure trove of goodness.
