I truly believe that this game is one of the greatest games ever created.
First the flaws, I feel the familiars roles could have been expanded besides heal, physical damage, and aoe damage. Another familiar problem is the serenading aspect. They could have made ways for the player to enhance their chances of getting the familiar they want/need to collect. Finally, the tutorials are pretty in your face popping up any and everywhere.
Now the goods. One of the best parts of this game is how they seamlessly combine real-time and turn based combat. You still seem to be dishing out attacks back and forth, but you can dodge aoe attacks from enemies without a command. The game is also truly heartwarming, but that is something for you to see yourself. The game also integrates the Wizard’s Compainion very well into the game where it really does seem like a guide to this magical and mystical world with creatures you have never seen in your life. It can give you tips from all the familiars of the world to crafting recipes. They also make you go seamlessly from a weak child to a fully competent wizard. One second you are firing a small ball of fire, the next you are firing light arrows, the next you are summoning previous bosses, the next you are using the Big Bang as a spell.
Overall, this game for its one or two flaws the game is a classic for me and I would completely recommend it.
