I knew very little of Sparks going in (besides FFS as I'm a Franz Ferdinand fan) and I have to say, despite the length of the film, I found the film very fascinating the whole way through. The band's story is very unique, and the way that the film explored every step of the way through the band's career, including talking about all 25 albums, is something I would want done if one of my favourite bands were to receive a documentary. Edgar Wright did the band justice and I'm happy for all the hardcore fans excited over this.
Since watching, I've decided to check out Sparks' discography, and I'm quite enjoying what I'm hearing! I doubt I would have explored the band if not for this film, which is probably what Edgar Wright had in mind. It's also got me excited for Annette later this year!
