I want to start off by saying the game developers and financial investors have a very tough crowd to please these days. There are far too many that want everything for free and expect all of their expectations to be satisficed.
I have been playing MMORPG's long enough to be considered "old". I actually Beta tested vanilla Wow. And have a very nostalgic character that still has 8 of 9 set gear from Vanilla Naxxramus. Missing the ring from Kel'Thusad. That likely may not seem as impressive as it was to the present players however it was fairly difficult back then requiring 40 players all synced together to clear the dungeon.
That being said I have over the years played just about every mmorpg out and dabled into the first person shooter-looter genre. I have also been on the ride with NC Soft a few times with a few of their mmorpgs.
After doing both Beta's for Throne and Liberty. I honestly think the game has a allot of potential.
I personally really like the morph vs mounts. It was well developed and seamless in transition. I mean how fun is it to be running as land form and jump off a massive cliff and morph into your selected morph for flying- gliding. Or to drop into a lake, stream or river and instantly be swimming smoothly through the water.
As far as the dungeons go I really liked the challenge at low level. Managed to get into a few and could enter solo but also teamed up on a few runs. The challenge felt right. Not allowing groups to mash through. Actually took some organization and doing mechanics. The dungeon levels were impressive. I remember being able to see the next level from above while clearing the upper floor. It get's challenging at the lower levels.
For me the graphic art is amazing 10/10. The armor sets looked really good. The cosmetic items also looked equally amazing. Working through the battle pass seemed to be decent also. Hoping the progress remains the same. And won't take a massive grind to get through the rewards.
I unfortunately did not get a chance to try the pvp - arena so I have no feedback on that.
The world is vast and fun to traverse morphing along the way. The area events continuously ongoing was nice. Could jump in at any moment and collect resources.
The game kept my attention and I really like the detail built into everything. The world scenery, armor, weapons, effects, morphs. It all looked really amazing. I am in to see where it goes.
Counting the days until the early start September 12th. Of all the recent games I have tried that are a true mmorpg.
Throne and Liberty has my interest and hopes up.
