Out of all the shows I've watched as a child, this is only one that I'm able to watch back 8 years after it's end (or lack of and one) and still enjoy it.
Other hit shows from the teen Nickelodeon era are almost only enjoyable to watch as a child. Unlike other series in the Schneider-verse, Victorious feels like less of a children's show. Set in the fictitious Hollywood Arts, the show revolves around Tori Vega and her newly found friends after a successful audition to get into the school of her dreams. With a wonderfully written 7 man ensemble and numerous supporting characters, Victorious brings to life the high school fantasies of those who are headed into or are already at that stage of their youth.
Rather than being grounded in reality, Victorious isn't scared to delve into the fun, wacky, and outrageous situations you see in the show, no matter how unrealistic they get. That's what makes the show so enjoyable and rewatchable. Even now as a borderline adult, I still view these episodes through and through as if it was still my first time. And every time I still get disappointed that we never got to properly say goodbye to the show. With all these Nickelodeon revivals happening lately, one can only hope for a real ending to the adventures of our favourite Hollywood Arts students.
In my heart, this show will always be Victorious.
