I've seen most "horror" films released in the last few years and I'd say that this one is far better than most for just a few simple reasons. 1. Acting 2. Sensory experience (score, costuming, cinematography) 3. Scares The main actors all were believable and performed well (minus one of the child actors who was meh...but she's a child) Music meets location are awesome. The final scene...the beauty met with disgust is something I've never seen before and LOVED. There were a few jump scares that really got me. But the film did more than just the bare minimum of jumps. The appearance of the Nosferatu was just scary enough to look evil but also believable! This element usually ruins horror for me...case in point, Smile 2 ( liked it until they showed the demon which looked super fake and silly) Oh, and there's folklore, possessions and steamy sex! The one minus, it was a bit of a slow burn so I took off a star for the extra 20 min that felt unnecessary.

If I have to watch that woman guzzle water one more time !!!! So many plot holes. I would have given it 4 stars bc the jump scares were better than 80% of the genres offerings in the last several years ! But then they repeated the terrible mistake of Smile the original - they showed the stupid "demon" or what ever it is!!! Then it became corny in addition to the very obvious plot holes. Better than the first but still needs work.

This movie was terrible. Don't waste your time

I wanted to give this film 5 because I've been waiting for a film in the "horror" genre for YEARS that would measure up and this one almost made it. The score, directing, cinematography and acting was superb. But I knocked off one star for the fact that I predicted the ending with at least 40 min left of the film. There were also some plot holes but I don't care...still a recommend one on my list ! What I can't stand about today's horror movies is that they show too much of the "scary" part. Too much CGI, it becomes comical. This film, had just enough glowing eyes to signal demonic spirit but the most horrifying element was the human aspects of the characters. Well done !

What a terrible movie. I wish I could get that time back. The sounds were obnoxious!

Adam Sandler, an avid basketball lover. When I was in college, he used to come to campus and shoot around while we were doing cheerleading practice. His performance was equal parts obnoxious and compelling. I found myself saying "how stupid is this guy" for a majority of the movie. Hated the music, the character development was weak and aspects of the plot were unbelievable. The ending was the only redeeming element. When you're a terrible person, sometimes terrible things happen. Not a fan of the film overall. I would have rather watched Happy Gilmore for the 25th time.

Not a "horror" movie by any stretch of the word. But, this movie is heartbreaking. Parenting is difficult, especially with a high needs child as the baby in this film appeared to be. The film does a nice job showing the mental strain Eva was under from the time she became Kevin's mother. she lacked support from her husband, has no other support around and the doctor just brushed off her concerns when she took in her toddler. At one point, she outright abused him but does that mean this made him a killer ? Truth is, nobody leaves the hospital with a play book on how to be a parent, especially when the infant screams constantly and then turns into a toddler who seems to be equally as difficult as that screaming baby. This family needed therapy a long time ago Burning question though....why did they cast a child who looks nothing like either parent ?

If I could give this show negative stars, I would. Watched it, hoping it would turn around but was sorely disappointed. LOVE the Weeknd for his first few albums of music. However, his acting fell flat and while the fact that he was part of the shows production, writing etc interested me at first- I was left wondering if maybe he's got more of a pathological side to his actual personality than his album 'Trilogy' led me to question years ago. And as for Levenstein (I'm prob spelling it wrong), the creator of Euphoria...well this show manages to be just as disturbing and makes me wonder if maybe he has some Epsteinesque behavior in his psyche. These people clearly know NOTHING of the world they try to portray and end up with a show similar to 50 shades of grey in its lack of respect for the sex positive culture. It's seen in every scene where the line crosses tinto abuse which is NOT what true kinky culture entails. Terrible ..waste of five hours of my time.

Great cinematography, great acting, interesting soundtrack and great plot twist at the end. Recommended, cut out all the other overanalyzing. It's just a movie
